Am I the only one who tears up when I think about the fact that Jason is now in Kindergarten? I cannot believe that we are sending him away from home for the first time. There was trepidation on the part of all of us but Jason's first day of school could not have been any better. He received a letter from his teacher Mrs. Rice a few days prior to Open House and that seemed to be a real ice breaker. The night before was open house and we finally met Mrs. Rice and took a tour of his new school, Level Grove Elementary. That's right, our boy is a Bulldog and we are so proud of him. After open house we treated everyone to Chick-Fil-A dinner and ice cream as a sort of celebration and then it was home to bed. The following morning he was up and ready to go. His clothes were all laid out and backpack embroidered with the letters RWYA: Remember Who You Are. We ALL walked him to the classroom and left him sitting at his seat. He was very focused and serious. No tears or looking back, a real tough guy. I on the other hand, was a mess. Fortunately I held it together for him, but the ride home was filled with many tears and also great joy. Jason, Daddy and I couldn't be more proud of you. What a leader you are. God has great things in store for you and we can't wait to see what they are. We love you!

Getting Ready for Cora
I am so very blessed! As if having a fourth healthy baby were not enough to make any day a joy, I am honored to have a dear group of friends who are always there for me, literally "showering" me with their love and kindness at all times. And what a beautiful shower it was. I walked into the room to find beautiful tables set with antique tea sets, delicacies all over the lavishly decorated food tables, and a pile of gifts that would humble anyone. We had the nicest time snacking and drinking hot tea as we celebrated the upcoming birth of our Cora Lynn. So many handmade goodies and personalized gifts will be waiting for her in our home. Thank you Lord for such wonderful girlfriends.

Go Braves!
This Summer, our small group tried to plan several outings together and on one such occasion we met for a Gwinnett Braves game. We had never been before and were so pleased with the experience. We sat in the outfield with several other families of small children. They provided us with blow up shakers that the kids thought made great toys to hit themselves and others with! There was even an awesome fireworks display at the end. The weather was beautiful and even thought I can't even remember who won, it was a home run for us.

Everyone's Buddy
Caleb, words cannot do justice to your personality. You are full of life, full of fun, full of energy, and I think your body may be full of lead! You are a friend to everyone, always smiling and playing with anyone who shows you attention and joining in on the fun no matter who or what are involved. We love you little buddy!

Colleen turns 4
For one special morning, our home was transformed into the Kirkland Beauty Salon and Colleen took her rightful place in the world as a 4 year old! She invited her best little friends from church and Nonna, Grandmama, and Riley Catherine joined in to help with all of their beauty needs. We did hair, makeup, and nails, and learned about what it means to be lovely on the inside as well as the outside. There was all the giggling, squealing, and primping you would expect from a group of girly girls and Colleen couldn't have been more in her element. The wild boys went to Chick Fil A with Papa Ron but joined us at the end for ice cream sundaes. And to finish off the celebration, Grandmama brought over G.G. Mac to visit. It was a great day for an even greater girl. Colleen, we are so proud of you and the lovely little lady you are growing up to be. Happy Birthday!
On a side note, I was recently joking with Colleen that she is too precious right now and I want her to stop growing. To which she replied, "Mommy, you are going to be happy when I grow up, know why? Because I will be like you!"
